Track the viral trends
Viral Video Chart is a site that scans the top charts on all the big “web 2.0” video sites such as YouTube, MySpace Video, and Google Videos. Using the data it acquires, it outputs this into a list of the twenty-five most popular vids, and can display this data for a day, week, or month.
The site is not only interesting to see what people are watching (which helps us track what might be the next big thing) but it has a nice blurb offering a comprehensive history of internet virals.
It would be cool to see some enterprising coder take the data this chart provides and turn it into a tool to predict the trends. This might take some time to get enough data, but it’d be a cool tool nonetheless.
