Chris, if I can add one more commment, the inital response to Divvycast has been so strong that we have been able to open up a free hosting level that will allow bands approximately 1000 downloads of a 5 minute clip featuring music, tour dates, and interviews. We're very excited about this new addition.

Chris, thanks for mentioning Divvycast and for your comments. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few points. Divvycast brings the advertisers to the musicians- all they have to do is opt out of any sponsorship they don't want. Divvycast easily publishes podcasts to iTunes, Yahoo!, and several other aggregators. Divvycast also provides a simple facility bands can use for posting links on their MySpace pages so that their fans can download the podcast directly from MySpace.

While traditional podcasters may consider 1,000 downloads a difficult target to reach, most bands have an existing, built-in audience. Bearing this in mind then, we're not overselling the revenue potential. You're correct; it's not a get rich quick scheme. No band that has that many downloads did it without effort. But right now those downloads bring in zero revenue. Divvycast offers the opportunity to change that.

Are there ways to monetize podcast that are easier, faster, and produce a better return? We haven't seen any yet, but we'll be checking your blog to see what they are. That's exactly what we want to deliver to the musicians that make use of Divvycast.
