Recently, Peter Upfold (of our sister site, FOSSwire) and I interviewed Mark Kennedy, CEO of Celtx, a cross platform program for developing a production that I have reviewed favorably in the past. To use their words:
Celtx is the world’s first fully integrated solution for media pre-production and collaboration. It replaces old fashioned ‘paper, pen & binder’ media creation with a digital approach to writing and organizing that’s more complete, simpler to work with, and easier to share.
The interview, which we have been planning for months (and finally got to do this week!) talks about Celtx as an open source project and the impact of Celtx to a typical production workflow. It’s around 20 minutes long.
You can download the podcast here as an MP3. Enjoy!

No, not really.
First off, there’s nothing especially wrong with the show. It’s just not very impressive. It’s disappointing, really.
If you’re a Revision3 fan you’ve already seen the ads for it. Promised to be “BIG,” the show instead feels utterly small, simple, and nothing we haven’t seen before.

For the second time now a video podcast has changed, making my earlier statements incorrect.
First it was Morgan Webb backing away from the camera, and now it’s the Revision3 Gazette being made available to everyone. As I mentioned in my “Problems with Revision3” post, I thought it was a bad move to make exclusive content that users couldn’t preview, especially when the payment system is deeply flawed.
But now it’s free to download by all users, not just paying members.
The Revision3 Gazette is hosted by Rev3 Director of Production Sarah Lane (you’ll remember her from G4TV’s Attack of the Show, and she used to be Digg founder Kevin Rose’s girlfriend). It’s a behind-the-scenes look at how the Revision3 network operates day-to-day, with the first episode focusing on their move into new offices.

Leo Laporte explains why we shouldn’t call it “podcasting.” Incredibly insightful post about a subject that I’d once dismissed as trivial. I’m beginning to think I may have been wrong.

Houston Chronicle writer questions the quality of user-polling, with the wonderfully incendiary title: “I Still Don’t See the Utility of User-Generated Web Sites.”
