So here’s the deal everyone

Hey YouMakeMedia readers!
It feels like it’s been forever right? Oh? What’s that? It has? Well sure enough, I haven’t posted here since June 27th. Sorry about that.
You see, the other site in the Oratos Media network (the network this blog is part of) is making some waves. FOSSwire
(the other site) has been on Digg.com about three times, now boasts about 1500 subscribers, and got about 130,000 visitors last month. Needless to say, I got slightly distracted by FOSSwire’s success.
In fact, I got so distracted that I finally decided I couldn’t focus on YouMakeMedia. It was a tough decision because I spent so much time setting up YouMakeMedia. I had a really great time putting the site together, finding good content, blogging, etc. But the unexpected success of FOSSwire caused me to change some plans and refocus my energy.
So today, a year and a day after I first registered YouMakeMedia.com, I had plans to close the blog for good. And then I checked my RSS feeds.
For some reason, perhaps as one of those signs that seem to only happen in the movies, the DVGuru RSS feed spit up some old content. The infamous “Riding into the sunset” post was redisplayed in my RSS feed as if it were new. After seeing that, I knew I couldn’t let YouMakeMedia go. There aren’t enough good sites in covering this type of content to let this site go to waste.
So here’s the deal. Obviously if the last few months are any indication, I’m a lazy blogger. Obviously, I can’t do this alone. So if you are interested in keeping the site going, and (even more importantly) are interested in writing for the site, even if it is only a post or two, let me know! Just email me, editor @ youmakemedia dot com. I’ll hook you up with login credentials and all that jazz. I’m going to plug in some advertising here too, so heck – you might earn a little extra cash on the side.
I know there are some of you out there who would be interested, so please, let me know. And if you don’t want to write, at least comment on this post and say hi. I’d appreciate it.

OK, Jason Calacanis calld YouMakeMedia.COM a great Domain Name. You can’t let that die.
Yeah, I’ll post now and then. Like ho to get a video off YouTube and convert it to soemthing you can edit and then upload it back to YouTube as something new – I’ve struggled with things like that and would share my experiences with others. If that sort of thing is useful.
Taking media of DVRs like TiVo and Media Center is also something I’ve had to learn – and it isn’t easy.
But if you think that sort of content is better than no content, sign me up
Rob
and sorry for the typo’s – on my NOT iPhone phone.
Hey Chris, I’d wondered what had happened to YMM. I’d love to help out and get some more content on here. I just sent you an email.
