Oscars won’t be WGA-written, according to the Associated Press, which said the WGA refused “to allow its members to write for the Academy Awards or Golden Globe ceremonies.” via ComingSoon#
Depends. The host would likely be a WGA member, too, and therefore barred from doing any more writing than a standard “host” normally would. The same problem that the late-night hosts ran into. They’re not allowed to write their entire shows because they’re WGA members and they wouldn’t normally do that.

I honestly didn’t think it would come to this. I was wrong! I suppose if a comedian hosts it can’t be too bad, but who knows, right?
