While the Celtx team were at Creative Screenwriting Expo 6, they put on a seminar about their software, and how its unique approach to script-to-screen makes it the best tool for screenwriting. We’ve discussed Celtx before. Beyond it being free and open-source, it really is an incredible tool. The mere fact that it makes collaboration between [...] -

Hey all– it’s Chris, your always absent author. Joel’s been doing a kick-ass job with the site, putting up some great links (did you check this out?) and some great posts (sorry Canada). But while he’s been here keeping things clean, I’ve been out in the field playing with toys. One toy in particular [...] -
Marvel Digital is Stupid

Marvel is offering its archives online for $9.99/month, or $58.99 a year. Sounds great, doesn’t it? Well… “Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited products will be viewable only in a Web browser and not downloadable.” Well, that’s a drag. But at least I can check out the comics I plan to purchase online first, and then go pick them up at [...] -

via boingboing OCAD has a new ‘zine library opening up, which, I have to say, is awesome. I wonder if I can send them copies of my two-issue ‘zine, the NS Business Learn-all. See, the company I was working for at the time published the Nova Scotia Business Journal, and I, just to annoy the editor, decided [...] -

Vimeo, a video sharing site I have reviewed in the past (and personally endorse for all my video content) has released an update to their player that supports native resolution HD in Flash. Needless to say, the update is being widely embraced by the video community and beyond, getting coverage in Motionographer, Kottke, and many others. [...] -

Audacity is a free, Mac/Windows/Linux audio editor. It does a great job cleaning up bad audio sounds in a relatively straightforward manner. It’s certainly worth having around and knowing a few tricks with it. And it can help your media projects sound better. Here’s how. Mission one! Audacity is available from http://audacity.sourceforge.net. Mission two! (following the [...] -

If your film or podcast needs a little sprucing up with some music (perhaps an intro theme?), there’s an excellent resource out there to help. Magnatune. Its purpose isn’t specifically for licensing music for home-made productions, but they have great terms that allow you to use music you find on the site for free, as long [...] -
Tekzilla Review — Is Rev3’s New Show As BIG As Promised?
Posted on 28-Sep-07. Filed in News, Video. Comments (0)
No, not really. First off, there’s nothing especially wrong with the show. It’s just not very impressive. It’s disappointing, really. If you’re a Revision3 fan you’ve already seen the ads for it. Promised to be “BIG,” the show instead feels utterly small, simple, and nothing we haven’t seen before. -
Leo Laporte explains…

Leo Laporte explains why we shouldn’t call it “podcasting.” Incredibly insightful post about a subject that I’d once dismissed as trivial. I’m beginning to think I may have been wrong.
